Different Type Kebabs

Turkish Kebaps are world wide famous clearly. It is known by all over the world and when you visit Turkey sure you will definitelly taste it. But before your Turkey visit try to learn which Kebab is which one? Before you prepare your to do list read this Kebab options😊

Adana Kebap

Turkish Dish that consists of long ,hand minced meat Kebab mounted on a wide iron skewer and grilled on a open mangal filled with burning charcoal. The culinary item is named after Adana, the fift largest city of Turkey and orginally known as the ‘KIYMA KEBABI’ minced meat kebap.

Course : Main Dish (shish Kebab)  + Salad(onion ,leaves and spice)

Main ingredients: Hot minced lamb and tail fat  (WIKIPEDIA )

Urfa Kebab

Turkish Dish that consists of long ,hand minced meat Kebab mounted on a wide iron skewer and grilled on a open mangal filled with burning charcoal. The culinary item is named after Urfa , one of the largest city of Turkey.

Course : Main Dish (shish Kebab)  + Salad(onion ,leaves and spice) + thin bread

Main ingredients: minced lamb and tail fat

%95 of the kebab restuarants you may reach it also most of the turkish food restorants you may reach it. It is spicy.

It might be considered as the sibling of tha Adana kebab. Even if they look very smillar on the grill , the taste is quite different. Adana Kebab is spicy but URFA KEBAB is not spicy. Urfa Kebab meat is drawn with special armor of Urfa city region.

Ussually it is around 25cm to 30 cm and serve as one shish.(may varry depending tested restaurant.) Most restaurant also may service it As wrap if you interest. Bu it becomes like fast food in taht option.(my personal idea😊

Very bascily if you like spicy should preffer Adana, if you dont  like spicy you should preffer Urfa kebap.

Patlıcanlı kebab (Eggplant Kebab)

This kebab is quality varry highly dependint tested restaurant. It is not spicy and if you interrest grilled Eggplant this is definitely what you need.   Upon served inside eggplant might be hotter than meat so show attention not to burn your month 😊

Mostly cooked with grill but some restaurants preffer to cook with oven.

Course : Main Dish (shish Kebab)  + Bulgur pilaf+ grilled tomato and grilled  paper+thin bread

Main ingredients: minced lamb and little tail fat(less oily than adana and urfa kebab+ eggplant

Minced type is ussually much less oily than Urfa and Adana Kebab.

Beyti Kebab

Beyti is a Turkish dish consisting of ground beef or lamp, grilled on a skewer and served wrapped in lavash and topped with tomato sauce and yoğurt.

When you eat kebab you may need some yoğurt near it. And thin bread ussually served with most of the kebab. So actually Beyti kebab is a good combination for you already prepared by the place and very practical to eat directly.

Ali Nazik Kebab

It is a home style Turkish dish which is a specialty of the Gaziantep provience of Turkey. It is made from smoked and spiced eggplant ,grilled and than pureed ,topped with cubes of sauteed lamp, previouslyseasoned and marinated. It is ussually served with rice pilaf or yoğurt with garlic, grilled vegitable and melted butter.(Wıkıpedia)

Chicken Shish Kebab: In Turkish ‘TAVUK ŞİŞ’

Grilled chicken breast meat are marinted and with colourful vegetables all threated onto skewers and cooked cooked to prefection. It is not a heavy oily kebab and esspecially summer periods it is a good option to consume esspecially at lunch periods.

 

Usually it is served with thin bread and grilled tomato, papers. Wrap option is available at most of the restaurants.

Cağ Kebab

It is horizontally stacked marinted rotating lamb kebabvariety ,originating in Erzurum province Turkey.

Main ingredients: Marinated slices of lamb, tail fat,onion sweet basils,black papper and salt.

It is hard to find that kebab. Cağ Kebab places only sell Cağ kebab and mostly they don’t sell any other kebabs.

Middle aged adult may eat easlly 3-5 shish and they continue to bring more shish till tell them to stop bringing more.(this is the tradition for cağ kebab it is also a culture not only Kebab) Not to get kebab colder they bring one by one till you say stop. I eat around 4 to 7 shish each time. It is my favorite kebab as a Turkish citizen😊

Iskender Kebab

İskender Kebab is a Turkish dish that consists of sliced döner Kebab meat tropped with hot tomato sauce over spiced of pita bread and generously slathered with meltedspecial sheep’s milk butter and yoğurt. It can be prepared from thinly and carefully cut grilled lam por chicken. Tomato sauce and melted butter are generally poured over the dish live at the table,fort he customer’s amusement.

Course: Main dish (döner kebab + appetizer (yoghurt)

Main ingredients: Thinly cut grilled lamb,tomato sauce ,pita bread,melted sheep butter and yoghurt.
